Child learners
Your child’s education is an important and major part of their life. Whether you want to help them get ahead, or keep up, or they are floundering under a teacher they dislike, my mission is to help your child do their very best.
I am passionate about discovering what people are interested in and matching that interest with their learning needs. My role is to spark interest in learning as well as teach the subject content. Your child will find the lessons fun and interesting whilst also reinforcing their learning.

I will help your child to develop their own learner autonomy and goals and make it pleasurable to learn. At this stage a disliked teacher can affect your child’s enjoyment of a subject for the rest of their school life: I’m sure most of us remember a teacher we hated at school and often hated their subject because of it. I am here to rekindle that interest in English and History.
Working with you and your child I will create a tailor-made scheme of work. With regular feedback and check-ins, we can put your child’s progress on the right path.
Adult learners
Teaching adults is how I began my teaching career and I have taught university students as well as people who were emigrating to the UK. Whether you are a complete beginner, need some help preparing for university entrance or for work, I can help.
I will meet your learner needs by tailoring my lessons to help you meet your goal. For example, for a student who needs to improve their IELTS score quickly, we will concentrate on the skills needed for the exam. For a student emigrating to an English-speaking country we will focus on skills for living and working in that country, as well as cultural differences and general knowledge of the country.

My process
Whether it is one-to-one or in a group, I will spend time with you and get to know you. I will be assessing your language needs as well as getting to know you, so that lessons will be more enjoyable and appropriate to your learning needs. I believe in learner autonomy so I will support you and help you to make the best use of your time. You will also have the chance to get to know me and decide whether my teaching style suits you. I am adaptable, so just let me know!
Class activities may not always “make sense” at first glance. Why are we doing a word search, or creating a magazine or reading a book together? Where are the drilling, grammar and vocabulary quizzes? Rest assured, there is a place for those. I have assessed and developed every activity we do in class to ensure it supports your learning needs. Word searches help with word and letter recognition. Creating a magazine can be more interesting than writing essays and will introduce you to different genres and styles. Reading is the very best way to learn vocabulary.
About me
I make my classes fun, creative and communicative no matter how old the student. The best way to learn is to enjoy it!
